The ridgeline on my HH Asym Zip (and every other hammock I own) is never slack. I like it guitar-string tight, but not so it's bearing much weight. You'd have to really hang your hammock at a shallow angle to snap the ridgeline, but why would you do that when you have dejoha's hammock hang calculator?
Just avoid stupid angles and excessive anchor distances and you shouldn't have to worry much about the HH ridgeline.
+1, but the hang calculator calculations don't seem to work for my HH Explorer Deluxe. When I follow the hang calculator height and length dimensions, I get too much sag in my RL for my taste. I now ensure that my RL is relatively taut (before I get in the hammock) rather than be consumed about the 30* angle. HYOH
