Here are some pics of the 8.5x8.5 it the 11x11 is basically the same.
Since these do not have a cat cut, I like to pull the slack to the head or foot end to get the "slack out. This makes the other side "extra flappy", so then I put a toggle through the 2 of the loops on the other side. This makes it a lot less "flappy" and creates a little cocoon effect that channels wind and rain away from you.The pictures show it better than I can explain.
You can also center up your stakes and "batten down the hatches" on both sides.
The tie outs are too low to be effective on the 8.5x, but the 11x is up a little higher. They could both stand to be higher up on the tarp though. Still, I am happy with it for the price
It is now seam sealed and dry as a bone in 10-20 mph wind and rain. Still no real world test with a hammock, but it has been up all week, besides when the seam seal was drying.
