aint this fun?
my first night in my safari was friday the 29th
been dealing w/ some of the same ponderments, you have
1st night was on stock suspension w/ semi-stock fly suspension
i did replace the stock fly tie outs w/ the reflective ones(same size) from NITE-IZE & the stock hammock tie outs w/ white marine shock cord(same size), for easier identification after dark...
in my reading, i've found that the stuff the hammock folks use has way more than adequate strength, otherwise we'd be reading about failures & we/i haven't
both helped make my camp a bit more visible, at night(handy around some of the guys i camp with)
i picked up some of the MSR GROUND HOG STAKES, for convenience, since my stake bag was in the barn 36 miles away
the stakes worked as advertised & the reflective loops on the stakes were nice n easy to find in the leaves
your saga was quite easy to follow, the pics are good n clear & i look forward to reading about your 1st hang
