    Which cinch buckle?

Looking to switch to cinch buckle for hammock suspension.

Dutch has the buckles with sliders. AHE and some others have what I would call two piece "ring style".

Is one type better than the other? Pros / Cons of each?

    thanks

Dutch's new titanium ones are the best choice IMO. The kind with the sliders don't typically need a back up hitch like the ring style does and the shape of the Ti ones is great to use with a continuous loop of amsteel.

I've been very happy with the WarBonnet buckles (no backup hitch needed). The AHE UL Cinch Buckle with Chain Link is similar, but costs twice as much. The Dutchware Cinch Buckle and Dream Hammocks StrapBuckle seem similar. No question, though -- if you can afford it (or are desperate to save a few grams), get the new Dutchware Titanium Cinch Buckles. Just keep in mind that this is the premium solution.

The lowest-cost solution may be the Quickdraws with Cadmium-Plated Cinch Buckles from ReadyStrap.

I have the Dutch TI Cinch Buckles in hand. They're simply awesome. The weightlessness in comparison to the other standard Cinch Buckle he offers is astounding. I'll be throwing them onto one of my own hammocks very soon.

Most economical are those that Readystrap has:

I put them on all my hammocks, including the ones my Grandchildren use.

Thanks all - buckle with slider seems to be what most would choose.

I had not heard of Ready Strap before

    Readystrap can be scary sometimes.

He ships so fast its almost like he knows what your going to order before you do. He'll send you an invoice after you order, and sometimes you get your stuff before you get the invoice. Gary is good people and a member here on HF.

+1 on Ready Strap. Count me as one who got product before having paid for it.

I find cinch buckles easier to work with than the two part triangle thingies that Warbonnet uses. The cinch buckles are much easier to adjust.

I just put the new Ti buckles on my Ridgerunner (replacing dutch's steel ones). Looking forward to getting for a few nights in the Smokies (fri-tues).
