I just made a sweet hammock out of the Poly D 1.2 material. It feels very nice, as Dutch said, kind of like silk, but it is not slippery or clammy feeling. Very little stretch. It feels very substantial, but is still very light. My finished, Speer Style, hammock using the entire 12 feet of material is still less than 9 ounces. I am looking forward to a night in the woods with it. I forgot to mention how comfy it is.

I only see 4 colors listed on the site. Are a couple sold out? What are the other two colors?

    Thanks!

I understand that these fabrics are not calendared.
Are these poly D fabrics tested downproof by anyone?

Could we get some pics of the new colors of poly-d? Still hoping for something very light colored like 'yellow'. Let me know if I should buy now while it's marked down or hope for another color option.

What is the max weight capacity on these? Thinking of getting a few as gifts as well as one for myself. I am right under 300 lbs.

No they are not calendared and I don't believe them to be down proof

Hammock has the best color samples right now...

Right now I am putting the weight limit for 1.4 around 260 and 1.2 to be 225 to be conservative. I will know better when more people use it.

    Law Dog (ret),

I can assure you that the 1.4 PolyD will hold a man of your stature, as I am of equal stature. I had the pleasure of lying in one of Dutch's 1.4 PolyD's this past Saturday at a hang that Dutch attended in New Hampshire with us NEHHA types.

Besides being strong as steel, the thing was as comfortable as could be. I am going to be purchasing two of them. One for the wife and one for me. Even if you didn't want to use this hammock for an overnight sleep, which you certainly could, you could use it as a rest hammock out on the trail. Set it up to sit on, nap on, etc.... The one Saturday got the ultimate test when a 5 year old and his 10 year old sister used it as a swing. Another of our members showed us how gymnastically adept she was at doing rolling flips in it.

I would highly recommend that you get one. In addition, and not to spill the beans, but Dutch is working on an exciting sock that will serve as both a mesh bugnet as well as a weather cover (for cooler temps), depending on how you orient the sock. I guess Dutch will release more on that later. We got to see the prototype and I have to tell you, we were all very impressed.

    Hope this helps.

    All the best !

I'm confused. Are there hammocks available in 1.2 or is it just the material itself for sale? I can't find 1.2 hammocks on Dutch's website.
