What are you lacking in the way of gear? I have a couple UQs, pads, and cold rated bags. I could probably send what you are lacking with some folks from the KC area to get them to you. Then just ship it back with them at the end of the hang. Any volunteers from KC?

Right now I posted in the general thread about keeping warm and was reminded of a few things I should have remembered
If it is below 20 though I may need to borrow a warmer bag for my top side.
I'll have to pass through KC on the way up -I' m in Joplin- so if things work out maybe we can meet up

Sorry to hear you situation, Radiohead! I know what it's like...I lost both my parents and my wife's parents already. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers! I shouldn't have an issue making this...no chance of work conflict at this point...I was laid off on Friday. Oh well...will deal with whatever life throws at me.
Campcrafter...depending on your size, I too might have an extra sleeping bag that you can borrow that should help you in these temps.

The bag I have is a down Marmot Never Summer rated to 0 degrees. It is a large that will fit up to 6' 6". Let me know if you need it.
Campcrafter- If the timing doesn't work out you need someone to pick-up and bring up some gear from KC let me know.
Going to tryout my gear this weekend in the backyard first. Might even see a little bit more snow this Saturday.
I will report back, if it works out. Should be similar temps to what is forecasted for the KC/Indian Cave hang.
I was suppose to be hiking the Butterfield trail this weekend, down at Devils Den State Park in Arkansas with my cousin. He is from Texas, and was not prepared for cold weather hiking/backcountry camping. So we postponed until next spring.

This is a bit off topic of the hang but I'm new to hammocking and have never slept in my hammock other then taking a nap in my backyard a few times. I have to work next weekend so cant make it to the hang but was wondering if any one on here is from central kansas that may beable to help me get my hammock/gear correct? I live in Salina KS any help would be great just a noobie looking for how to begin in this passion.
