    So...what's new since 2014?

I need the quick list of all the "improvements" in camping hammocks over the last 4 years. My hiking activities got curtailed as I went through two hip replacements and one knee replacement over the last three years.

The hips were rather quick recoveries, but the knee carried on and on, and to this day the knee is still a sweller after a hike. But I finally broke out the hiking hammock today on a hike with my son and then quickly fell asleep for about a 1/2 hour mid-hike nap along side a babbling creek.

I use whoopie slings for suspension on my homemade hiking hammock. My son uses descending rings for suspension on his ENO double nest that he uses for hiking. He has a Clark for camping, I use a Claytor for camping.

What new and improved items do i need to know about?

    What comes to mind:

Dutch has some new hardware goodies. The Cult of Dutch continues their regular worship.
Several new kinds of fabrics on the market.
Recently announced Economy line of quilts from HammockGear
Several new small vendors on the forum.
Lots of mostly junkie knockoff import hammocks on Amazon.
Costco Down Throws (CDT) are all the rage in the DIY forum.
DIY underquilt clews and Karo Step are kind of a thing.
Warbonnet XLC and Dutchware Chameleon hammocks are the current darlings.
The Warbonnet Wookie underquilt is a big deal new design.
Lots more options for fabric prints and colors. Olive Drab is getting a run for its money.
11ft is the new standard for camping hammocks.

the only really big deals IMHO are:

    1. New fabric options
    2. Totally removable bug nets and over covers

everything else mentioned in the previous post is either not really new in the last 4 years I think or IMHO inconsequential. Welcome back.

Dutch Speed hooks. Should be perfected in about 2 weeks

Seriously, I noticed several people sportin' Dutch hardware and a spreader bar to hang two hammocks from the same trees, under one tarp.

The Chameleon hammock and Dutch's new wide asym tarp are both innovative.

I feel like there are so much options now for customizing your hammock set up now. Even making one with an integrated net is not as daunting with so many great designs to build upon
