    Tarp ridge line length question

I am looking at getting a new tarp. Stepping up from a Tadpole, to a tarp that is more universal (my eye is on the bullfrog), and less 3-season.

My question comes with the ridge line length. I am using an 11ft hammock which is new to me, and am looking for adequate coverage on the ends. I'm not sure of which ridge line length would be best. 10, 11, or 12 ft? My hammock ridge line is around 100".

    Any suggestions?

    I have a 11' dream hammock. Use a Bid Daddy 11' tarp.

11' works for 11' hammocks. You'll have to be more careful with centering the tarp than when using an 11' tarp / 10' hammock combo. If you use doors, this will likely be a non-issue, since you can protect the hammock ends in really bad weather. 12' will give you better coverage, but it also means more weight and you'll need trees that are spaced apart a foot wider.

    If you're going r
To a tarp with doors, an 11' tarp is plenty long for an 11' hammock. Without doors, I prefer a 12' tarp.

11' with 11' is what I use. Never had a problem.

So the consensus seems to be 11ft.

Good to know. Thanks for your input.
