    Congaree National Park, Oct 9

There's been some interest from the midlands folks getting together for a weekend. Here's your opportunity.

October 9-11. Congaree National Park. Eastover, SC.

We park in this parking lot. I think a few of us will try to get there early in the day Friday to make sure we get the camp site we like.

There's a fire ring and I'll bring some fire wood along, but if you have some extra and don't mind bringing a little, that would be great. Other than that, meals and drinks are all up to you. Kids are welcome.

so you have tree huggers big enough to fit around those trees? hahhaa!

I've hiked and kayaked thru the park and it's an amazing experience, but I've always wondered if my tree huggers could wrap around one of those gigantic trees. Have fun! I wish I could attend, but have prior plans.

If I decide not to thru hike the SNP that week, we will be there. Thank you again for the invite. The pictures were great. Looks like you guys had alot of fun! The campsite looks like a perfect place for hammocks.

And why would you decide to not go on the SNP hike that weekend? It's going to be a great trip. Plus, we will probably do some recording for the "AT Hiking" and "Southeastern Backpackers" podcasts at camp each evening.

I really want to get down to SC for a hang sometime, but the SNP trip begins on the 7th. Fulminated, keep me posted on any future hangs.

I hung there last April. You could hang 1,000 hammocks amongst those pines! Almost all the trees are a good distance from one another.

I am going to try and make it also.

edit: Do we need to go by the office and get a camping permit also?
