MO>Bell Mountain Wilderness- Quick overnight adventure

Wanted to get out for a quick overnight with my hiking buddy (my golden retriever, Jax), headed 5 hours south-east of Kansas City to the Bell Mountain Wilderness. We got there about 10am on Thursday. We hiked up and over Bell Mountain, then turned around and headed back to the top to find a nice spot for the evening, maybe 7-8 miles total, nice easy day. The weather was perfect, was hoping to catch some nice fall colors but it appeared we were a bit early. Enjoyed the great scenery, regardless and had a great time. Woke up early enough to catch a beautiful sunrise the following morning, packed up camp and headed back to the trailhead.

Take the time to get out, if even for a quick overnight, it's always worth it.

    Here's the video:

Awesome! Nice choice of music for the vid. That's one of my favorite albums. Saw him with PJ in Memphis this past Tuesday. His voice never disappoints.

    Thanks!

One of my favorites as well. The ending song on my video "No More", Eddie wrote for a friend of mines documentary called "Body of War".

What a great way to spend the weekend. Always nice to get out with the dog and do some exploring. Great choice of tunes.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

Great spot for the hammock - I'm sure the sunrise was pretty spectacular.
And it definitely looked like Jax approved of the trip - his tail was wagging most of the time.
    Thanks for sharing.
