Rain kilt / Grizz Beak - ever been done?

I like my larger tarps but I have to say I get interested in dropping some ounces every once & awhile.

Along that line of thinking, I was looking at the zpacks rain kilt the other day.
Then I started thinking that kind of looks like a Grizz Beak.

Well, then I started wondering if anybody had ever combined the two functions into one piece of gear?
    Either DIY'd their own setup.
Or used a Grizz Beak as a rain kilt?

I've seen discussions about using your coat as a beak, but I've always thought that would limit you when you had to get up in the middle of the night.

    Anyway.. thoughts?

The dimensions seem a bit off - a proper grizz beak would be larger than necessary for a rain kilt, while a rain kilt would seem to be insufficient to be a grizz beak.

I went down and grabbed one of my GB and started to fold it around in different ways to see what I could come up with. Eventually I found something that "may" work as a kilt but would require much velcro or some other fastener to have it keep its shape.

That being said, I am not sure if a GB could be resigned to be shorter (less coverage towards the ground" and work well.

    Interesting idea.
