    Cost of hammocking

Just for fun, I added up the total costs of my primary hammock equipment. That's a pretty scary total all summed up, but when you look at it per night, it's no big deal. A basic, decent hotel will cost you about $100-130 per night in many cities.

    WBBB $175.00
    MJ $110.00
    MJ doors $75.00
    SF $130.00
    40UQ $270.00
    40TQ $220.00
    20UQ $280.00
    20TQ $230.00
    TOTAL $1,490.00

    Nightly cost
    12 nights/1 year $124.17
    2 years $62.08
    5 years $24.83

And the number is MUCH lower if you consider only the items I use on a trip, not all 8 together of course. That actually makes more sense but wanted to keep it simple And I hope to be doing this well beyond 5 years from now!

That was for fun? I don't want to think about figuring out my number. It would make me sad. I always say if I just had this or that then my gear would be complete. Then the next new thing comes out and i want one of those too. Now I'm debating between a bonefire insulated hammock and an argon insulhammock. It's just money.

Let's see, this is my primary goto setup:
WBBB XLC DL in multicam w/multicam topcover - 295
WB Superfly in camo - 155
    HG Incubator 20 - 249
    HG Burrow 50 - 155 (used)
    2QZQ multicam UQP - 60

Total for that setup is 914 plus DIY suspension. Worth every penny.

LOL I guess that wasn't the right word. But it does feel good to justify my spending sprees

I don't see a Dutchware line item in your tally, or any other non-stock suspension components for that matter. Have you managed to not get hooked by the lure of shiny objects this whole time?

I think I've spent $90 just on rope so far this year.

I won't even attempt this. I have multiple setups. The total $ would probably make me a little queasy.

Yeah I just stuck with the major purchases off memory. But I think it's safe to figure in a good $100 on two pairs of Tarp Flyz, cordage, figure 9s, straps, stakes and seam sealer. Please don't remind me about everything else like clothing and stoves

I wouldn't say "better" in terms of replacing something...rather just "additional" items to give me options, mostly for different types of weather. I finally learned recently to spend the money and be done. Or "buy once, cry once"...but on several occasions
