Saw this on reddit and didn't see it posted here. Thought it might get a few laughs from the hanger community.

That is probably the front of the line for the 10/18 used gear sale last weekend. Great idea!
I wonder if there's anything like that on the east coast. Unfortunately the hillbillies here have a way of rigging things together and I don't think they sell well on the used market though...
There definitely hanging around for something. Most likely was the REI garage sale.
Is it hang time yet?
Laugh, laugh, laugh, good stuff! I just missed the garage sale the past weekend. Got distracted by life. It always gets in the way of my fun!

I went last year was pretty close to the front of line.. I wouldn't have carried that stinking stuff out for free!! It was ridiculous what nasty stuff people were buying...
From the sounds of it, I think I can find better quality at the local flea market. Which luckily for me, is booming every Saturday morning, bright and early!
You can get good deals on some things but I agree with you. I have seen many an old pair of worn out beaten down hiking shoes purchased. In my ground days, I did buy a $300 tent for $100. Someone returned it for a bogus reason I I reaped the benefit.
Hopefully the hangers pictured are at the front of the line and get some good deals.

I have to say that I have racked up on deals. I have gotten a MSR $160 stove for $10, REI Qtr Dome for $25 used once, Boots that were practically new for $30, a Bertucci watch for $20, and more stuff. The Asheville store used to do as first come first serve and then after 2:00, the drop everything to 50%. Great stuff for great deals. Some of the items had an slight issue with them as to reason for return. I called the manufacture and most items were replaced for free per longterm warranty. Many people are too lazy to call manufacture for repair and just return for full refund price at REI.
