    tarp wear from ridgeline?

Has anyone actually seen damage to a cuben fiber tarp caused by running the ridge line under the tarp?

I know it is a common theory that this could cause wear, but I really like the additional support it offers. But not enough to damage a CF3 tarp.

I tried it under the tarp and found the ridgeline was sticking to the bonded seam at times, causing it to roll back. That didn't look good so I stopped hanging the ridgeline under the tarp immediately.

If there is at least part of it can be blamed on the ultra thin line often used by the weight concious. Buy some 3/8 inch webbing and use that under the tarp. ;-)

I feel the tarp under the ridgeline gives a better pitch too. The other reason I do it is because cuben fiber costs a fortune and I don't want anything having the slightest chance of producing wear.
