What do the different folder icons mean?

When I'm browsing HF forums via the web, I see a number of different folder icons such as the ones shown below.

    icons.jpg

It's pretty obvious what the green arrow means - that I've contributed to a thread.

The lock icon I assume corresponds with a locked thread that nobody can post to but a mod.

What is less obvious is what the yellow versus grey folder color represents, as well as the open versus closed folder icon.

I'm guessing yellow vs grey conveys which threads you've not read and which you have respectively. Open v. closed I'm having a harder time guessing with any confidence.

Are there concepts of both a "locked" and a "closed" thread. If so, what is the difference?

I've poked around looking for an icon legend to no avail, nor could I find a quick answer in the FAQ. A quick Google search hasn't helped much. You'd be surprised how many hits you get when you search for terms like icon, open, closed, and vbulletin.

According to the bottom of the page in "forum" view:
open folder means "unread posts" closed folder means "no unread posts"
    Orange is "hot thread"

Thanks for the answers, and for being gentle that I missed seeing the legend. I promise I looked for it first. Major fail, that.

That open/closed folder icon meaning is counter intuitive to me. I'd expect it to be the other way around. I guess an open folder icon could be considered an invitation to come in, OR as I assumed, evidence that you'd already been in there.

Paul, I did check for a sticky explaining the meaning of the icons in the Comments/Questions forum when I didn't see the legend. Your tips might bring all the boys to the yard, if they only knew how to find it... pinning it in there in addition to the General Hammock forum would have helped me find it. I think I mostly read it when I first showed up or when I was trying to figure out multi-quote, but I don't recall everything that was there.

No worries! I remembered seeing it somewhere, it took me a few tries to find it
