    Mike,
while you are saving up for UQs and trying to get pads to work, have you considered what is known as a PeaPod or just Pod approach? You mentioned your zero *F sleeping bag. I am copying something I just posted to someone else with similar problems:
"Do you have a sleeping bag, maybe a nice wide one with a 2 way full length zipper? Experiment with wrapping that bag all the way around the bag, making a "pod". Shug has a bunch of videos on that. It make take some experimenting to get it to fit right without any top or bottom gaps. Fill in with clothing and pads as needed. Maybe sew on some fabric Gros Grain loops to the bag and add some shock cord suspension to pull it up where needed. This can work spectacularly. That is, if you have a sleeping bag?"

Most of the great advice has already been said. But I will add that I own a double layer Traveler and have used a partially inflated Big Agnes pad in between the layers. It still moves!

The advice about silicon may help, but I believe the opening is too big for a rectangular pad in a double layer gathered end hammock. You can try adding Velcro to the opening of the double layer to help hold the opening closed after putting the pad inside.

One really cheap, easy option is to use a double layer of Reflectix. Downside is it's bulky to roll up and carry around. That's what I use down to about 40. But, I don't think I'd be able to go lower than that and I'm a really warm sleeper (i.e. don't get cold easily). YMMV

I've been using a blue foam pad from Walmart and it works fine for me down to 30dg.

I use a sleeping bag and a Thermarest Z lite. It bunches up but doesn't slide around. I'd try deflating the pad a bit and/or put it in the sleeping bag.
