These are definitely on my list to try! I too have had minor issues with whoopie slings, they just aren't for me and the cinch buckle suspension is more my route, though this looks impressive and I need to give it a go!

As I have been hanging each weekend this past month, I have been contemplating suspension setups, etc. As hangers are want to do, I have thought about trying something different in form and function. I have rap rings and straps at present and am very happy with it but the tinker bug is too great to let it alone. I was thinking on cinch buckles from Dutch but this is interesting as well.

Keeping an eye on this and may be in the market for a test run on this system.

It seems like, based on the video, I could get by with a shorter strap, and as mentioned above, use a single length of amsteel for the system, saving weight. I'm a gram weenie in training at best but it looks simple and fast as well. Interesting, very interesting.

If straps and chinch buckles are more your style, I will have something simpler and lighter for you this Friday! Stay tooned!

That's a pretty slick piece of hardware. The fixed eye of the amsteel line can also be looped over a marlin spike in the tree strap to give even more adjustability. Have you tested these in a rain storm to see if the device acts as a decent drip line. (The actual term escapes me at this moment, but I am sure you know what I am talking about)

When you go to anodize them, make fluorescent blue a colour choice. These are going to be hard to find if they fall off your hammock suspension.

    Cheers

A very fine and innovative piece of work there.

I do see the straps ability to be shortened due to the Amsteel looped to the end of the strap and going thru the beginning loop of the strap. Even if you use a Dutch Clip on the strap, it could be a shorter strap.

Less strap, more Amsteel would still be less weight for the length due to having only 1 line and not 2, I would think. Also less bulk.

My only concern for long term would be to make sure the curves on the piece are rounded evenly on the T and in the hole to prevent burs from cutting the Amsteel leader or Amsteel/Zing-it/Dynaglide, ect. Continuous Loop. Other than that, very nice job.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

They do work as a water brake but not sure about in a gully washer though. I am limited in color as these are being electro anodized. You will not loose them unless your amsteal brakes. On the leader there is a piece of the amsteel pulled inside it's self to prevent it sliding off.

I will warn that these are for 7/64 amsteal only. Small line causes issues. Also if you hang angle is less than 30 degrees it can cause issues. It is not because of a bur but due to the fact that a bit of amsteal gets pull into the hole and frays it. It does not brake it but will wear it premature. I have spent a great deal of time with these and know all the issues that can come up.

I want to thank everyone for the great response. I am overwhelmed with the orders and positive feedback. If you guys keep this up, I will have to quit my job and make you hardware full time!

All orders placed up to now will go out tomorrow. Look for an email with tracking info.

Neat idea. So far I've preferred cinch buckles over whoopies for my ease of use. I'm interested in trying these out.
