do they eat the amsteel up, or is that caused by rough edges? these look great, definitely want to try them so long as they don't eat up my line while im aswayin away.

I've been using mine since roughly November of last year. At first on my camping hammock and since April on my indoor hammock. Using them on average 2 times per week and I'm a swinger, meaning I like to get the hammock swaying while I go to sleep or watch TV or play games with the boy. I have not had any issues with mine "eating" my amsteel. That being said, I can tell you that making new leaders down the road is both easy and inexpensive. I will be using these for my next hammock set up and any subsequent hammocks I have for personal use. YMMV.

these are definitely on the list of stuff to acquire, along with some other dutch greatness for the tarp. i like these for the suspension a lot. new amsteel isn't a problem at all, neither is splicing these onto some. extra leaders don't weight enough to negate the brilliance of this, so these are to be a new staple in the "J already left" camping system.

BIAS still sells the Hammock Anchors. That said, Dutch sold a similar system (invented by the same guy), and he stopped selling them because they kept damaging the rope. I don't think the Hammock Anchors are any different.

I think the issue with this as well as Dutch's hardware (the speed hook) is the sharp bend that the Amsteel has to make when it passes though the hole in the anchor. You can minimize this to some degree in how you secure the anchor after making an adjustment. You need to make sure the amsteel loop you create is as close to the whole as possible. causing the Amsteel leg to bend around the diameters of amsteel when passing through the hole in the hardware. two diameters are even better.

I have three sets of these as well as 2 sets of Dutch's original speed hooks. They have worked fine for me but, Everyone's mileage may vary.

Awesome, I wonder if I sanded the edges back on the titanium if that would make a difference. Cheers!

I have some and stopped using them. While they work, they tear up the Amsteel and yes I sanded all mine mine smooth.

What do you recommend in place of them? I am attracted to their lightness!
