Just wondering if there would be any interest in a section for non-hammock related stuff, just like a general section for all non-related topics. Still abiding by the forum rules of no religion/politics ect.

There already is a section for that. The donating members section is divided into a bunch of different sections: cooking, knives, backpacks, etc. It's worth the $10 a year since there is a lot of information in there. That area is just separated from the hammock camping section to keep some level of focus.

All topics and forums that are free and open to all are strictly hammock related, as Hammockforums has by design a singular focus as the ultimate resource for all this hammock related on the internet.
By becoming a forum donating member, you get 2 main things:
1.) increase your PM box to 999 messages (you'd be surprised how helpful this is … )
2.) access to the non-hammock forums and discussions
