What is the 2nd hole for? My brain wants to stick a split ring in there, but I'm not sure why.

Hea Dutch, I see you have eliminated the need for a marlin spike hitch and toggle with this system.
In Colorado the tree diameters vary so much that I need 12' tree straps. So I still need to use a marlin spike hitch to take up the slack on the skinny trees.
Could you make the loop in the end of your amsteel large enough that it could go over a toggle?

That originally had a purpose but it wound up just being there to make it lighter. I might eliminate is all together in the future.

It is 1.5 inches right now but if you put in the notes at check out what size you want and I will make it. Also consider the Adutchable Clip as a possible solution. It makes your hugger any size.

Bingo. I already use the Adutchables with my Whoopie Hooks for an almost infinitely adjustable system. Now with these new marvels, I can cut the weight of my Amsteel in half, and as Dutch mentioned, you don't have the bury of the whoopie sling to contend with when you hang between trees that are closer together. You still have the bury of the locked brummel on the one end which I imagine will be a little tougher to loop onto the hook, but that's still at least 10 inches of adjustability added to my system. Super excited to pick these up!
