    Hi from Frisco, TX!

... but now I want to discuss stuff.

Hi there! I live in Frisco, TX. About 6 months ago I bought a Hennessy Explorer Deluxe (with a hex fly) and about a month and a half ago I got a 20 degree UGQ Zeppelin for it. I camp about once a month, because my son's scout troop goes camping pretty much once a month on the clock, and I like to join because it's good fun.

I struggled for a while there in tents, not sleeping well on cots and waking up all beat up, when one of the Assistants let me try his second ENO setup. Loved it! (it was clear that I'd like a longer hammock though as I am 6'2''). After some research here, I got my own gear and truly, I am having great time sleeping in my Hennessy. Considering getting the Scout model for my son also... that way he might actually get some sleep when on campouts too haha.

Anyway, I learned to really like camping with the troop, and sometime in the future, withy my son. It's really worth it to invest into good gear. I also have a vision of a motorcycle trip with hammocks involved, next summer in Colorado with a buddy of mine...

While I have been a 'lurker' so far (and honestly, I do expect to keep lurking more than posting) - I love the feel of this forum. People seem really helpful and there is a ton of information. Really cool! Thanks to all of you!

    Nino

Welcome from Fort Worth. We have a pretty active group within the DFW area. Check the Southwest section on the "Hangouts, Campouts, and Trip Planning" part of "Forum" to see if we are hitting someplace you might like.

Howdy from Fort Worth as well! Glad you made the transition from lurker to member. You're going to have much better sleep and stay dry now that you've made the transition.

Check out this DFW outdoors group if you're interested in doing family-friendly camping/backpacking outside of Scouts.
