    Oklahoma Newbie Looking For Help

Hello All! I am new to the forum and new to hammocks. I am planning an Appalachian Trail thru-hike next year and have recently switched from tent camping to hammock camping. I am very pleased that my total "sleep system" is both lighter and much more comfortable than what I have been using for many years.

My challenge has been learning all the nuances of pitching a hammock correctly, accessories, etc. Thus far I've been relying on this forum and books to learn. What I would really like is some hands on training. I live in Tulsa and was wondering if there was anybody in the area that could spend part of a weekend day getting me up to speed and answering some questions?

    My setup is as follows:
    Warbonnet XL Blackbird DBL 1.1
Top quilt - Hammock Gear Burrow 20 wide
    Under quilt - Warbonnet Yeti
Tarp - Hammock Gear Cuben Fiber tarp with doors

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Jeff

… and since Zac from Tulsa is also coming to the Texas Hang, if you come, you'll have someone to translate for you.

I agree that a hang is the best place to get knowledge from those that have already dealt with the trial and error of setting up. But... If you can't make a hang, there are lots of great videos that give step by steps. I'd be more than happy to answer any specific questions as best I can. I don't mind making short videos if there is something that you are having trouble with. Just let me know

    Hi Jeffs,
How goes the training? Today would be a great day to overcome the "good golly it's cold out here" challenges, eh? 26 degrees and snow!
