Thanks for the great trip. I lived just north of the Art Loeb for 10 years some years ago. I'd forgotten how beautiful the area is. Have to admit I was hoping you and Ken were out and about the last couple weeks. Looking forward to the rest of the trip.

I'm hanging tonight in my backyard to try out the underquilt protector I'd gotten from 2QZQ. Nice folks there. It's windy outside and ought to see how it works.

    Thanks for bring us along.

Postscript: The underquilt protector did help last night. Wind blew like crazy. I used porch mode with my tarp so was exposed. Pulled the protector up a bit and it worked great. Seemed to act as a cap above my under insulation to block the wind from hitting me.

Gotta be (somewhere) a companion video...the story the coon dog tells of a night out and coming upon a couple of old hammocker hikers. "There I was, taking a powder from the boss, a million miles from anywhere, curled up and comfy in the middle of the night, when along comes a guy with a headlamp..."

That wee mug has had a lot of instant espresso sipped from it and been on my every hammock trip.

But, but, but. Now hold on a minute. What about the Linville Gorge, do we get to see you two hiking in there, or am I going to be very disappointed?
