Re-Threading gathered ends on ENO hammock?

I ordered some Amsteel Loops from Hammockfan.
I don't anticipate difficulty in getting the loops through in the same way that the existing rope is set
and I have seen the tips about using small PVC pipe to thread it.

    BUT

Is it OK to run the Amsteel out the end the same way ENO sets their ropes?
The rope on it now isn't wrapped AROUND the ends of the hammock the way I have seen DIY instructions for making Hammocks.
I was just wondering if there is a problem with having the thin Amsteel holding the ends that way or if I should try to wrap around and Larks head to distribute the weight.

    Make sense?

I'm certainly no expert but I think you should be fine just running it through the channel and larks heading it on itself

Ditto. I replaced the originals with Amsteel and ran them just as they were originally run. Many hangs on them and no issues..

Just to add for confidence sake, you'll have no problems using the end channels. If you do a larkshead with a continuous loop or amsteel the material gets so bunched up after being loaded that there really isn't any friction and there is plenty of gathered bulk in the material as well.

I'm not sure if the multiple wraps serves a purpose or not. I have done it both ways and only difference I can tell is the single wrap sometimes comes loose when not under tension.

    Wow...

Just pulled out the gathered ropes....
The ropes and carabiners are 77 grams.
    2.7 ounces.

My whole new suspension is only going to be about 100 grams

Very nice. I couldn't wait to put loops on my ENO when i got it. Fun project. I just lark head my loops right behind a small bit of whipping. No need to thread anything.
