I'm not a hammock expert but looking forward to learning from this forum..
My company sells truckloads of Amsteel and Amsteel blue to the commercial fishing and maritime industry.
    Thanks all!
    Welcome to the forum.

We need to get you out at and sleep in a hammock so that you can see what it is all about.

Before everyone beats our new friend up too much about S+H costs, lets remember that Redden is a commercial enterprise that needs to make money. It's hard to keep a company profitable cutting off 50' sections of inexpensive line, packaging it up and shipping it. Consumers don't like to hear it, but there is a cost to handling.

Shipping things at cost is what we do between ourselves as hobbyists.

    Please don't stone me.
Knotty...you are absolutely correct. There is a cost for the packaging itself, i.e., box/envelope, labels, tape, etc. the cost of packing the material to be shipped (someone has to do it), the actual cost of shipping. All of this is part of a company's overhead. I grumble when the cost seems too high. On the other hand, my company charges a shipping and handling charge and it is a base charge plus $.50/item. It's just a fact of business these days.

Not yet. He's supposed to be sending a Discount Code for us to share with all forum members.

Are you making that available to us somehow or only those before the group buy started? Or is it something else entirely?

I'd like some if you're going to make it available here.

The idea of a group buy was to save on shipping cost. That way we only had to pay for one of us to have it shipped to and then we would split it up when we got together at the hang. If you contact him I think he will make te exact same deal as the group. I would prefer not to have to start calulating out paypal costs and shipping costs plus packaging. After all that you might as well have it shipped to you from him. His charges for shipping were straight up and for over 4 spools was something like $10. I thought that was reasonable for almost a mile of rope. He also is stocking the grey 7/64th. However if you want to you are invited to come to the hang and I will get what you want.

Gadzooks. Couldn't get anywhere near PA for a hang.

I'll have to see about e-mailing him for some rope.

Really appreciate the invite. Wish I could make it.

Let me know if he doesn't hook you up, but I'm sure he will take care of you. After all he is a sales rep.
