How was your experience with The Rain Shed, Inc.?

I came across The Rain Shed for the first time today and was surprised to see how much stuff they carry. I'm assuming some of you have ordered fabric and other stuff from them in the past and wanted to ask about your experience. They have a pretty good selection which made me feel good but the fact that they only except orders by mail or over the phone gave me reason to come here and ask for feedback first. I found a few posts that mentioned them from a few years back but not much else.

If it's hammock fabrics you want, I'd stick with one of the big three (Dutchwaregear, Ripstopbytheroll or DIYgearsupply) since they sell fabrics that are tested for hammocks. If it's very cheap you want, and you don't mind buying a complete roll, try Magna Fabrics. I haven't yet tested the latter one, but feedback on the ripstop fabric here seems to indicate that it works for hammocks.

My experience with buying hammock fabric from other sources has been very mixed. It's hit and miss. The description and photos say very little on the question "will it work for a hammock?" I had good luck once, but bad luck three or four times. Makes the good deal more expensive...

Yeah, their ripstop prices weren't the best but some of the other stuff was interesting. I just get excited finding more stuff for DIY projects. I did look into Magna Fabrics a while back and like you said, it seems like it's hit or miss as far as what you are going to get. I'd rather spend a little bit more and get it from "the big 3" since I know exactly what I'm getting.
