Traction aids over snowshoes as ice is a constant. Slip them on pac boots, over boots or footwear as the temperature dictates.

    Hey fellas,

Was wondering about the agenda for this year's trip, as I remember you all got in a couple decent days of hiking, no big miles, at least some on the AT, stayed at Over Mountain for a night.

Would you be planning something similar to last year?

I am only in for one night this year, but if it is anything like last year, hiking is doable. If it ends up (hopefully) like years past, hiking is likely out.

OK we have a problem.....this has happened before, sorry but Poof has had a demonstrable scheduling change.
Sadly we cannot make it on the Roan Higher on that weekend
We can however do it the weekend of February 20-22nd.
We realize that this may not work with the majority and we understand if all go without us but don't feel too sad because we just had
a small taste of it this weekend, and this vid might be instrumental to see for those thinking about attending/who've never been:

Great video. I am good for either weekend. I would just need to know which one around the first of January to be able to put in for leave.

Doing the Higher & Colder twice in one month is intriguing. The money to be made in tee shirt sales will be a nice chunk of change. Then think about the marketing rights. Welcome to the Microsoft Official Higher & Colder Hang Feb 6-8. Welcome to the General Electric ORIGINAL Higher & Colder Hang Feb 20-22. I know how you've been paying for all of your gear, been on to your shtick for awhile. Have your people call my people.

If I recall your stuff tends to increase during a hike and then clink on the way out.

I was looking for "hey, I need ballast" but the judges do accept "traditions". Rivendell is on the board with $500 and gets to choose again.
