I'd say my least useful hammock purchased was the Hummingbird Hammocks Single. It's super light weight, and compact, but I impulsively purchased it and realized it was better meant for lounging than sleeping.

Oh well, I followed it with the purchase of a Dutch Argon 11 footer and am very pleased with that.

I regret not finding this fourm sooner. I have made some mistakes with gear and just "solidered" on. This is a great site with a gazillion great ideas. I think all manufactures should send you here first.
I have slept in a hammock on every continent from -20 to +128, under direct and indirect fire, from frost to fungus except Antarticia.... But give me time... Thank you Uncle Sugar!

I regret not upgrading to a hex tarp at the tie I ordered my Hennessy. I also regret getting my son some of the nylon Eno slap straps. Way too much stretch. Other than that, it's all good.

Clark Vertex, I know some like Clark but the Vertex just wasn't for me and in my opinion im just not a fan of Clark.

Also add any of my gear that is specific to ground sleeping.

I regret buying a CuteQueen Trading kid's hammock that turned out to be way too small even for a very young child. I wouldn't say I regret buying my Treklite double because I love it, but if I did it again, I think I'd buy a crinkle taffeta tablecloth instead.

I love all my hammock stuff. But backpacking stuff, I regret ever buying canister stoves! There is something to be said for the peace and quiet of an alcohol stove that goes with the serenity of the outdoors! Nothing ruins a morning more than the sound of a jet boil! Ahhhhh.......

I originally bought an A-sym diamond tarp, thinking that it'd be enough coverage for my hammock. It was...kinda. It protected me from the rain but gave me absolutely no privacy. Now I have a hex tarp and don't have to worry about coverage or privacy.
The more I learn about people, the more I like my dog.

Bought it new in the early 80's at an army surplus store, I foolishly thought that if it was good enough for the military it must be good quality.
It probably wasn't even a real military piece of kit. The bottom was made of cotton canvas and soaked up rainwater like a sponge.
Dang, Trouthunter. I had blocked that terrible memory from my mind, but, no, you had to revive it! I guess you and I were the only two idiots to buy that POS. First night I hung it, it ripped apart and dumped my butt on the ground!

Only hammock regret I have is the time and expense I put into trying to make my first DIY hammock work for me. I should have just kicked it off to the kids and started again instead of messing around with it.
