I did this same mod to my son's Grand Trunk UL after we got it. I found some Tri Rings and threaded them through the chanel on a length of nylon line (at only 40 pounds I am not to worried about the stretch for him)

This video shows the knots and tying instructions you seek, bulldawgsan. Grizz's videos answer so many questions, we should make it neccessary reading/veiwing for all members. Once again, thank you grizz!!

I just did this to one of the kalisto hammocks I have. I pulled the line out of the channel, and re-whipped them like, I belive it was fin showed in a how to about adding a rideline. He called it the warbonnet whip. than i tied the rings on with a guarda hitch, and attached them behind the large ball the whipping made with a larks head. cannibal was right, took less than fifteen min.

Please, please excuse my lack of knowledge but what is this modification for? Less weight? I have several eno's and would love to know. Thanks

Just ease of use in most cases. The rings make adjustments a real breeze and set-up time gets shaved a few seconds.

Ease of set-up, greatly reduced stretch over Slap-straps, infinite adjustability...rather than predetermined loop points, having a double-ended stuff sack custom made for this, leave the suspension on the buckles, click...click, your done!
