Dutch, you're gonna have to provide photo evidence of a pair of hangers exceeding 1500lbs, who actually hang together. You'd have to conjure up some ti hammock fabric as well as ti huggers and spreader bars. At least the hooks should be safe...I think. Perhaps a ti tree brace (CRL replacement) for extreme violators. Oh yeah, I can see it all now, the Ultimate Dutch Bling Outfit (UDBO).

Whassat you say? You weren't referring to the actual weight of the occupants but rather the combined forces applied? Naw, I don't believe it.

Each person can exceed 1000 pounds if a hammock is hung tight(incorrectly). And then there is dynamic forces when person A is trying to launch person B by doing a pole vaulted jump into the hammock.

Well after the worst night I've ever spent in the woods over the weekend this just might be the solution to sleeping near my sweety. I struggled to find an area that suited the other tent campers but also had 3 trees that would work for the two of us to hand near each other under one tarp. We ended up hanging two hammocks from just 2 trees and upon changing positions throughout the night my feet in her face was where she drew the line. I'm hoping I can rig this to fit us under my kelty noah 12'. Thanks Dutch, you're a marriage saver!

My wife and I use the Double Whoopie Hooks and spreader bar, and it works nicely under the Noah 12. here's a short video showing our setup.
    Good luck!

Awesome, thanks so much. Seems like he diamond configuration would give plenty of coverage. Can't wait to try it out!

Quick questions on these: how big is the spreader bar, is it collapsable, and if so, what is the overall length while packed?

(I don't own hiking poles, never have, and know nothing about them, so these questions might be coming from a place of ignorance)

Well you can get different length spreader bars. I like two 18 inch ones. That will break down to 21 and 18 inch bars because the male pole has an insert. You can cut down the female pole if you want is shorter. 30 inches total seems to be the minimum for an 11 foot hammock.
