second hang = its getting better all the time

This past weekend I had my second hang. Different hammock and slightly different suspension. Biggest issue was not getting my feet high enough so I kept sliding to the middle and my feet went past my uq coverage. Still in spite of that I slept better and found a sweet spot faster. Last trip was a grand trunk skeeter beater ul - this time I had a simply light designs trail lair. The gt is a fine hammock just a tad too small. The trail lair is awesome. Complete setup:

    SLD trail lair
    AHE toxaway tarp
    AHE New River UQ
    Golite Feather 20 down bag
Continuous loop with descender ring, whoopies, straps and dutch buckle

Can't say enough good things about the toxaway as well - easy setup light and great coverage.

    Pics for those interested.

Looks like you're getting the hang of it. A little tweaking and you'll be good to go.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

First two pictures you were hanging sideways. That's your problem.

Just kidding. Getting it dialed in can be fun. Every hang presents new issues. Trees bigger/smaller, distance apart, slope of ground, underbrush. Takes a little thought to get things right.

    Ahhhhh!

Funny the pictures were oriented properly on my computer but they uploaded sideways ... and I couldn't find a way to fix easily at least...

I must say it is addictive, I started last year and continue to tweak, try new things. I am more into the winter hangs than summer( no bugs and mosquitos). Uwharrie is a good choice for a quick overnighter.
