Digital Camo Waterproof Fabric at Walmart

Digital Camo material I found at WM. Definitely some type of coating on the underside, but not as heavy some DWR stuff I've seen. It was $1.50 per yard. I'm thinking of using this to make a tarp for car camping with the hammock. It survived the water hose test with flying colors.

I'll take a pic tomorrow and post for those curious.

I would love to see some pics of this fabric, I have seen some polyurathane coated DWR ripstop fabrics at Wally recently.

Which WM did you find that at? Springville?
One day I'll come up with a clever sig.

Turns out I have some of that same material. I used most of it to make a couple of tarps to go with some hammocks I made for two of my grandkids. The 'cool' factor of the camo pattern prevailed over the weight issue for them, and their dad can always do the heavy carrying.

I'm thinking what I have left might be good for a pack rain cover.

I saw that same material @ my WM and bought a yard to fool around with, they didn't have enough for me to make a tarp with, cool pattern though.

Actually at the Moody Walmart. Trussville and Springville no longer carry fabric.

Glad to see you're nearby. We'll have to meet up some time. The Alabama gang is planning a hand in the Sipsey wilderness on Halloween weekend. Hope you can join everyone.

I wish I could make that hang, but my 3 little ones usually have plans for me on Halloween.

Where (generally) in trussvegas are you, and do you drive a Subaru? I saw one yesterday with a hammock sticker. I'm across the street from the cahaba project.

Looks like a polyurethane coated synthetic (nylon?) basketweave textile in a low denier.

Keep in mind it won't be like carrying 1.1oz or 1.9oz sil-ripstop but should make a near bullet proof tarp. Driving it around in your car, you could very well build your own command center with it and survive hurricanes or floods (folding canvas style boat).

If you retook that first picture and place some type of common object in there for scale (a US dime perhaps), one of the masters here might be able to tell you an approximate denier weight.

I still don't quite understand the relationship between what the oz/yd measure vs denier is on the lower scale.

I seem to recall, I thought at one point, that a 70denier would be in the high 2.x/yd area.

Actually I live in Argo. I work in Trussville. I'll have to keep a look out for the Subaru. What color was it?
