Just compared a bunch of weather sites...
    Accuweather: -18*
    NWS: -11*
Weather channel & Weather Underground: -3*

So from the looks of it, expect anywhere from -3 to -20 haha. Winds are looking to be in the low teens, so real feel temp will likely be in the high -20's to low -30's.

Since there's probably a ton of snow at the site, i was thinking if we can dig a nice big hole down into it where we could all sit insdie and build the fire down low, it would make a nice wind break and help keep some heat radiating in there. Hopefully we're the only crazy people going out and we'll have the shelter to ourselves too.

Also, is anyone else planning on showing up later friday afternoon/evening? If anyone wants to meet up with me and hike in we can work something out since others will be there earlier.

BTW, my pulk is going to be packed full haha. Glad it's not a crazy hike in to the pond.

Oh, and they're calling for 5-8 inches of snow tonight into tomorrow, so snowshoes will be a must have. I'm still planning on doing the Mt. Carragain hike saturday if anyone wants to join, as long as we're not all frozen blocks of ice saturday morning.

I was/am looking to do some winter camping, but this winter hasn't been the best for easing into it. Maybe March will bring some reasonable winter temperatures and I'll see you out there. I'll need a warmer UQ, some Neos boots and a stash of Reflectanium in order to hang with you this time around. Stay safe and warm folks.

Ok so what's the deal with hanging at the shelters, do we have to hang right off or near the shelter or can we spread out a little more because it's winter?

Does anybody have an extra closed cell pad or insulated pad? I'm have a 30° hammock gear UQ and a insulated pad as well as a -20° hammock gear TQ with a hammock sock. I've taken this set up down to -7° but with possibility of -19° I would sleep a little easier if I had an extra pad! if no one has An extra I'll make it work.

There's plenty of hanging spots in that area. You can hang pretty much anywhere you want.

Maybe some reflectix would work if need be.

Packed up and ready to roll I have 5 26" long hardwood splits in there pretty heavy. Not sure when I will get on the road tomorrow shooting for 1 pm arrival.

I will post my eta when I leave in the am.

Seriously I had trouble falling asleep last night I'm so excited.
