My son is 7. He hangs under his bed just like your son. I put some LED lights under there too. Kids are awesome. His hammock is just a curtain. There's a Jarbidge under it now, that's not in the pic.
Like thrash metal? Check out my nephew's band, Deathwatch. He's an amazing drummer... https://soundcloud.com/user-660860695
I got the "commercial electric" ones from home depot. They're embedded in a strip. Comes with a remote and everything.

Small price to pay, to see that smile on his face. There's no greater joy, than to be the one that put it there.

I have a 4 month old and can't wait until he can get into hammocking. I actually put him in my WBBB last night because he was going crazy. He has a cold and it's really bothering him especially when lying down. It helped for a while and I liked that I could pat his back from under the hammock.
I haven't been car camping in forever, but I'm sure that's how I'll start him out in a few years.
My Kids grew up canoe/tent camping, my grand kids like the hammock better.
we have been out back with the fire ring, t-storms, and full moons. I tied a bear bell to there hammocks to wake me when they moved, after 4 rings they are asleep.
We have even moved into the house with the hammocks, as Shug says "Wooo Buudy" this was a huge hit.
My 3yr old grand son has lived with us from day 1, my 6yr old granddaughter for a yr. She has 3 questions when she comes over, 1. papa what are you cooking? 2. depending on the weather, can I hang up the hammock? (inside or out) 3. Can I sleep over in the hammock? She has learned how to strap a tree and hang it herself, with papa fixing it.

As you can see they both took to it. she is reading her electric book out front.
Here is the outback hang, Papa in the middle.

Grandma even took over the 1st hang in the house with squirt taking a nap. He got her into here first gathered hammock.

Bear bell the zipper or his hammock, You will wake up, just be still and listen, you will know if you have to get up or not. This worked for me, not only knowing how they were when sleeping but also knowing where they were all the time, they loved the bells on there shoes, Grandma did not but we did.
Hammock in the living room since he was 3 (turns 5 in January). It's a big success! He's turning into a real acrobat with it too.
Camping is 'our' thing, his dad hates anything and everything that even remotely resembles camping. For now, we sleep in a tent, but next summer we're gonna try hammocks. If he likes it, or rather, if he can handle to sleep alone, I foresee lots and lots of mommy-son trips in the future :-)
Still getting the hang of it
Awesome picture hehe
