    Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park

I was trying to plan a trip at the end of December and was trying to find a good place to hang around Tampa. Has anyone stayed at Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park before and is it hanger friendly? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I personally haven't been there, but after doing some searching on the forums, hanging is allowed there, just need to bring in your own water, according to reports. Make sure you call ahead of time however.

There is a 2 dollar parking fee per day and a 5 dollar a night fee to use the remote campsites.

I've hung there a few times with our Scout Troop. Never had any problems.

I hung in the campground and in the morning the ranger asked me not to hang (but he really didn't seem that concerned). The primitive areas and trails should be fine.
