Roanoke River Paddle and Hang 2014

We'd discussed this as a possible after last years Bridge to Bridge paddle at Land Between the Lakes.
It turned out to be a wonderful trip in a beautiful location. The days are often way out of order from me
juggling 3 different cameras but you'll get a taste of the Roanoke River Paddling Trail, the Roanoke River
and the creeks we used joining it to establish our route.
Hanging was often a challenge in the swampy areas of the trip but we made do
Special thanks to Poof and HNO for their research, Ragnall for his most necessary contribution, EMCEE for
his eternal positive attitude-just a great group to paddle and hang with.

Here is the super condensed <3 min version with the typical trip pics and some gopro timelapses, and
after the paddle trip was over Poof and I spent 3 days on the coast so some pics thrown in from there:

Thanks. This was an amazing trip, even if we didn't make it to Darien. Maybe we can plan the hike/bike/paddle around an owl weekend.

Nice trip. I enjoy watching your reports. Did HNO take video too? What would you say was the hardest/ most challenging aspect of this trip?

For me it was staying dry. I had either a sprayskirt malfunction or a paddling top malfunction, either way my buttocks were wet and cold on a daily basis.
Poof and HNO took care of the planning so that was not a problem for me! and Ragnall, EMCEE, and HNO took care of the shuttling plans so that was not a problem.

Really cool time lapse effect with the slow horizontal pan. The slide show and music was great. Very enjoyable video

Another great video! Thanks for sharing.

Any chance y'all will make it to the Florida Hang (FHV) in Jan? It'll probably be cold, Florida cold - not Tennessee mountain cold, and we should have yak treks each day.

Timberr thanks but as (almost) always the dates of the FH are my work week
We wish we could attend again and see old friends. Maybe next year.
FPG thanks for the kind words

Wish I was back on the Roanoke for a couple more days. Great company and scenery!

Nice video with a little time warping or just a bottle of Scotch while making it?
