At what point does condensation occur when hammocking? I'm mostly concerned about cold weather hanging and condensation. So far, I've only been down to 25* with an inside hammock temp of 60* and haven't noticed any condensation yet.

It's all about the dew point.
Good luck,

This is an exceptionally personal question. It has a lot to do with environmental and personal factors. I'm actually in the middle of trying (as much as I can) to study the effects of vapor barriers on condensation in the hammock.
I've come to the conclusion that either a better statistician than I, a much larger study sample, or a warlock to invoke the correct black magic incantations is required.
That being said, I'm gonna keep plugging at it. If I see any trends for condensation conditions given my small study sample (also known as "me", at least so far), I'll share 'em.

Condensation from breath on your top quilt and hammock, or a pad underneath you?

Hi TZ let me take a stab at this.
Warm air can hold more moisture(water) in vapor form than cool air.
If the warm moist air hits the cool air. The cool air may still be able to keep the moisture in vapor form.
Only when the cool air becomes cool enough that it can not hold the moisture does it turn(condense)(this is the dewpoint) from vapor to liquid and will collect on any nearby surface.
So in your case of a low of 25 and 60 in the hammock area you had not reached the dew point yet. So nothing got wet.
