I need to do some legwork on McKinney, but i have heard they are hammock friendly, just need to confirm and scope out the best sites. I will try to get up there this week if possible and start the ground work.
Please let me know if you are interested so i can have a rough idea of how many spots we will maybe need and how many spots they have and how they are suited for hangers.

Just noticed after I posted the other was a dupe, I was gonna say I could check it out Sunday night, but we're waiting on a paycheck before I can do ANYTHING.
It's ok, starting this past Friday I am taking a leave of absence from work for a wee bit so I have plenty of time on my hands right now.

Which section for reservations?
I camped there once, down in the Primitive area. They are hammock friendly, I had mine set up and two or three sites over was like 4 more hammocks. Restroom (no showers) at the top of the hill. Our site had water, tent platform, grill.

JANUARY TRIP IS A GO!!!!
January 16-18th at McKinney Falls State Park near Austin. Checked it out today, they are Hammock friendly, and have a lot of sites with good trees. If you look at the park map, Big Cedar area (50s-80s) has a lot of good choices, but I really liked the Grapevine Loop area (40s) because it is set off to the side away from everyone else and TONS of great trees. In the Grapevine loop area, 47 sits in the very middle and is surrounded by the other 40s. Would be a great place to set up a central campfire/hospitality area.
