Fun vid, I grew up in that area, worked at Salamonie Reservoir as a lifeguard in high school and early college years. Our family camped at the state forest regularly. Nice blast from the past.

Weather looks nice for Friday but turns nasty in the afternoon on Saturday . Who's still in? I think if we bring some extra tarps and get plenty of fire wood early it might still be enjoyable.

I have to be back home by late Sat night so my plan is get there as early as I can on Fri. and hike the loop before dark. I'm guessing the 10mi. at 4 hours or so. As long as i start that by noon, there will be plenty of daylight set-up time before dark. My Sat. plan will be weather dependent so that if possible I can bring my gear home dry.

The forecast I'm looking at says 10% precip possible Fri and 33/27 low in the morning and clear Sat. 34/26. It is Indiana so that's surely subject to change....

Since I don't know exactly where 2 is, I thought I'd park on the east end of the trail near the boat ramp, hike the loop and find out, then set camp after.
I found a PDF and converted it to PNG that has the trail marked but not the campsite numbers. Feel free to mark it up for me...

Campsite 2 is at the northern tip of the 2nd loop (2nd from the east) and is not marked on your map.
Campsite 1 is the far west site icon on your map. The east site icon does not exist.
Looks like it might be just me and you Thumbs.
