They already have a wide distribution. Academy Sports and ****'s both sell Therm-A-Rest pads.

The UltimateHang.com had a review on the single. http://theultimatehang.com/2014/09/t...single-review/

Seems like he came to the same conclusion about this being another option to the current big name brands.

It bums me out when companies that make a good product try to branch out into unrelated products. When looking for a sleep pad, I look to thermarest.

In my experience, when well known brands branch out into new territory they are frequently losing their market share and they are trying to regain the lost market. Also large companies buy out smaller companies and use the well known name to market products that might not be able to stand alone. Putting the Thermarest name on something will definitely assist in the marketing for a while anyway.

I was just surprised Thermarest would enter the Hammock Market, competing mainly with ENO, or at least that is my opinion.

The military has been using buckles of this style for a very long time. They do work well. Check out this cool belt. Could be use as a tree strap and the buckle part leasing to your straps on the hammock!

This has to be an ENO competitor/knock-off. I wish the larger manufacturers were more innovative and less getting into the market.

If it gets more people hanging, it's a bonus.

sounds very comfy. Has anyone slept in both the therm a rest slacker and a polyD? Is the thermarest more like polyD's 1.2oz or 1.4oz or heavier? Why is it rated 400lbs?
