So - do I understand correctly? The 800GDD would require less down than the 700GDD to achieve the same temp rating?
That would make a slightly lighter quilt - closer to the weight of the GGD?

That is correct.

Is this just for the Underquilts? On the UGQ website, you can choose your Underquilt fill type from a drop down menu. When you are choosing a Top Quilt, there is already a distinction between 700 Duck Down OR 850 Goose Down... I don't see a drop-down option to change the fill type.

From what I am understanding from this, I would think only quilts to order, but not CUSTOM order, are included in the sale. i believe their regular quilts may have a sale, maybe, but it sounds like Paul and Missy are making specific "black friday" quilts that aren't normally in their lineup.... Kinda like when you go to a restaurant on thanksgiving, and they have a special menu specifically for a thanksgiving meal, which has its own price
