Yes....a little too straight....I smell a photoshop...and I've seen some shops in my time.

Honestly that is awesome. Now we all want to marry your wife.

    We need details.
It looks like a double layer(Y/N)
What were the materials? Type, weight?
How do you get the pad between them?
Did you get them locally or internet?
How did you get your pics in your post?
Does the mesh bag have drawstrings on both ends or just one?
What did you use to reinforce the mesh, if you did any reinforcement.?

Yes....a little too straight....I smell a photoshop...and I've seen some shops in my time.

This was not Photoshop. However, I have looked at the Hammock and this is likely the straightest 6 inches of stitch in the entire thing. My wife took the photo...and when it comes to freezing the moment....timing is everything.

Honestly that is awesome. Now we all want to marry your wife.

You will have to ask her. I quit answering for her over 12 years ago (our second date) and that decision has likely saved my life on numerous occasions.

    Double layer YES

What were the materials? Type, weight?

Rip stop nylon 1.9 outside and something a bit thinner on the inside.

How do you get the pad between them?

I left an opening about 36 inches long between the layers on one side of the hammock.

Did you get them locally or internet?

    All suplies were purchased localy.

Straps are parts of ratchet straps from wallmart. I made short work of the steel hook with an angle grinder and cutting blade.

    Fabric from Joanne's Fabric.

Rings from the hardware store. I realize that they are not rated for the amount of force gennerated by the hammock. However my wife and I tested them today while bouncing on the hammock with the combined weight of 350 lb.... GET YOUR MINDS OUT OF THE GUTTER. WE WERE JUST TESTING THE HAMMOCK.

How did you get your pics in your post?

Open a Photobucket account and set it up to generate URLS for each of your photo. All you have to do then is insert them into the text. Photobucket is free.

Does the mesh bag have drawstrings on both ends or just one?
What did you use to reinforce the mesh, if you did any reinforcement.?

I stole the mesh bag from my wife. Her winter camping down boots came in them. you need a special serger to sew up delta mesh correctly. It opens on one side.

    New and improved with floss

Does this stuff really work or am I the recipient of some long standing joke that you guys play on all the NEWBs?

I feel like Spiderman (well...at least old fat Spiderman....actually I feel more like fat Elvis but that is beside the point)

This stuff is amazing. I'm ordering more and I haven’t even figured out what I am going to do with it yet. It’s just too cool.

    Thank you all,

    Scott

Yup, I would have to agree that the wife is a lovely bronze color. Oh wait, they were talking hammock... nevermind
Very nice work. Only small problem will be that you'll want to keep making stuff, and altering other stuff that you did, or didn't make originally. *thinking* That bag could use a little pocket over here. Making hammock stuff makes you go through lots of thread on those looooooong seams. Found out that on my DIY model.
(Sewn channel end, double layered, six seams on each end. I had it as a single layer, and added a second. Couldn't bear to rip out the first three seam lines when adding the second layer, so just put new seams between originals. I know its probably heavier, but its the bedroom hammock so weight isn't an issue and it should never tear out.)
