    Hammock Questions

Looking for a new hammock to get for Christmas as an upgrade to my ENO DN. I will keep it for a backup or a friend. Stumbled upon Dutch's hammocks while looking at Stingerz for my tarp. Very good price. Just wondering what the difference is between the PolyD and Argon is. I know they are different materials, but what else does that mean in terms of lay, comfort and weight. Also if there are other hammocks you like, I would like to know. Been eyeing the Dream Hammock Darien thanks to Sintax77 on Youtube. Thanks y'all.

To answer your question, ARGON 1.6 is a Ripstop Nylon that is soft like cotton, weighs 1.6 ounces per yard. PolyD is a polyester with a diamond ripstop grid that is a little lighter and has very little stretch. If ARGON was a paint it would be a flat paint and PolyD would be Satin. If you like a firm bed the PolyD is a good choice.

My 3 equally favorite hammocks are: snipe from wilderness logics, argon from dutch and Netty from hammeck. I have eyed a dream hammock for sometime but have not pulled the trigger yet. I am not answering your specific question other than to tell you odds are your next purchase will not be your last.

    Good luck.

    There are some comparisons here.

They're both very nice, simple hammocks. Love them.

I personally would go with an 11' PolyD hammock. Light weight, affordable, and comfortable. Good luck on the search! There are a lot of great hammocks and companies out there.
