I liked when he said "consult a good book on knots" and then just tied a couple of overhand knots (not sure if they were square...I would have to watch the video again)

I am just glad to see someone excited about hammocks. I just hope he did not give hammock people a bad rep with some of his choices for location.

I thought I was the only one that noticed the "I'd rather be riding Unicorns" sticker on his sewing machine. hahaha!

He tied...was that a square knot?

Maybe he should be riding Unicorns instead.
I hope he doesn't give an instructional video on how to ride one

He went down nice an quick. And on concrete. The urban jungle is merciless.

The only "let down" I've had was when I was experimenting with webbing (I've moved on to cord). I had some tubular nylon laying around that I used to hang while I was "building" my hammock. It had enough friction that I could just run the webbing through the pair of rings and it would bite enough to hold me up. Then I got some polyester webbing. It was a bit slicker but I didn't think anything of it. It set up just like the nylon but when I got in the hammock it slipped and I went down, sort of in slow motion. A nice soft landing, on my lawn. After I quit laughing I threw a slippery half hitch in behind the rings to stop the slipping.

Whatever he lacks in technical sophistication is more than offset by goodguy charm and enthusiasm. Gotta love that.

Yeah, I agree. But they gotta learn about ropes hurting trees, there at the end, goofy nice guys or ... knot! LOL

Did y'all see the sign post sway as he "tested" his knot and said "be sure to find a strong post"?! It was surely a "do as I say, not as I do" video.

I like the dude. He's promoting hammocks and DIY, plus he didn't edit out his mistake. Rock on man.
