Thumbs up Brian & OES Makes the Honor Roll

There was a new MacCat Ultra made with SpinnUL waiting for me in the mail box at my office this AM. It arrived a couple of weeks ahead of my "must have" date and, upon first inspection, it appears to have been made with all the care and concern that we have come to take for granted from our gear makers. There are several reasons that doing business with these folks is so rewarding. One big reason is that they aspire to a high standard of quality...not necessarily because their customers demand it, but because they require it of themselves. Another is that there is no razzle-dazzle marketing hype that entices one to buy, but leaves a taste of disappointment after the sale. And another big reason that I like to do business with these folks is that they participate in, and support, and enhance the recreation activity we have chosen. In business, I have always tried to support and do business with those that support and do business with me...the same applies to recreation. So...I'm adding Brian McMillan and OES to the list that includes, among others, Ed Speer, the Jacks, Brandon the Warbonnet guy, 2Q's and ZQ, Dutch, Prez, and the Moderators and Administrators of this forum. That's a mighty fine bunch of folks, don'cha think?

I am going to order a Spinn from him soon. Gonna have a replication of my small grey tarp.
What are the color choices in Spinn? Just white?

Shug, Brian may shed some light on the color choices, if there are any...I didn't ask, and what I got was a light grey. It's probably a better color than one I would have chosen had I been given some off-the-wall options. So, the replication of your small, grey tarp may indeed be a small, grey tarp. But, be forewarned, this stuff is light! You may need to put a rock in the stuffsack with it just to keep it from floating away.

Man, I really gotta get one of his Spinn tarps. To have my name mentioned with that group of people is really humbling.

Brian's been on my honor roll for two years, since I bought my first 3 MacCat Deluxes from him, for the fateful hike with my sons that transformed us all into hard core hammockers. Highest quality all around.

I guess I shouldn't be too concerned that after he graduates he'll get an engineering job that will demand 60 hours/wk and turn OES into a fondly remembered sideline. There's hope he'll go on to graduate school and keep it up for a while, maybe even become a professor who has little to do but show up for class every once and a while, scribble on the blackboard, and mutter incomprehensibly <grin>

    Hi
I sent Brian an email asking about the cost of a spinn tarp but so far not received an answer. So can I ask what you paid for your and how much does it weigh? plus do you think it is sturdy and will not tear easy?
    Thanks
