I just visited the Dream Hammocks site and noticed a big Notice posted along the top of the page that said "We are no longer accepting orders for single layer hammocks using our 1.0 & 1.1oz fabrics." I'm just curious as to why? I know those are very popular among the lightweight group, and I even have one. Any particular reason these have been discontinued?

Please dont quote me but i think that they are now offering sl 1.0 hammocks in the newer fabric Hyper D 1.0 and 1.6.
In case you have not checked out the new Hyper D fabric it is extremly strong and has a silk like smooth feel to it,,, very nice stuff..

Yes, we are gonna be offering the 1.0oz HyperD fabrics. In fact, we are already using them, I just haven't added the fabrics on the site yet.
From what I'm reading here on HF, it sounds like folks are pretty pleased with the fabric so far and the 1.0 HyperD should be a stronger and more durable choice.
I'm probably gonna take those notices down soon and just specify that our regular 1.0 & 1.1oz ripstops can't be used for single layers.
I'm getting my Darien with 1.0 hyper D soon. If I remember I will post a review on the dream hammock forum.
