If Josh and Leah Saint are still running a hostel in Delonaga, there's unlikely a better way from ATL to Springer. Kind folks who can help you get a right start. Go slow at first, those first few weeks are rougher than the rest of the hike. You can always make up schedule after the first month. Don't make any permanent decisions while tired/wet/cold/hungry and you'll do fine. Clear skies on Katadhin!

Wow! Leaving a job to pursue a dream, very inspiring. Have an adventure and be safe.

Good on you! Can we assume you'll be sleeping in a hammock? I'd be interested in a list of your kit. Best of luck to you!

Awesome! Have fun and be safe. Even better that you have a job to return too.

Amen to that! I always wondered how people hiked this. Were they all retired? So wealthy they didn't work? Out of a job? Either way, it would be a great accomplishment!

Nice move, keep us posted on your plans and progress, especially if you would like some trail magic directed your way in PA.

+1 - Josh was a great host. Didn't meet Leah because she was away.
