    New Chair From The Bushman

I was searching the videos and found a nice idea from our fellow member, Bushman of the Yukon. A clever mini hammock that works as a chair.http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/v...ls&videoid=129

Of course I had to make one for myselfI had a few small squares of leftover sil, stitched in the channel and fed some line thru. Works good and is very small and light. I'm going to do another in camo with camo line for hunting season. These will be awesome for carrying around, small enough to tuck into a pocket and really comfortable. Sure beats lugging around a chair.

Bushman, great idea and keep up the good work.
Hope you don't mind me bringing your video out to the front page, it was a cool idea, and most people wouldn't see it.

What are the dimensions you used?

I had a piece 3' x 4', rolled hem the edges and triple stitched a channel on each end. Finished product approx. 32" x 42".

This could also double as a pack cover, just snug up the strings around your pack!!
Will make a nice gear hammock at camp when I'm not sitting in it.

any concerns with rope against trees...ala, no tree huggers? (I don't mean to assume your not using them, they were not in the video...)
Would there be less chance of hurting the tree with this seat instead of a hammock?
I already have a pack cover that would be perfect for this!

Yeah tree huggers recommended here also, I could see it denting the bark. Probably a short set with d-rings or loop and biner.

Cool idea. Thanks for the link. I really like the three-tree hang, looks like a regular sling chair.

Wow! I need one of those... would work great for bow hunting on the ground.

I like that, dual / triple use gear. If it weren't, I don't think I'd bother, as my hammock works just fine as a chair... but if it's not adding any weight by being the pack cover and gear hammock - why not?

Thanks gargoyle for posting his vid.
