Went out and hung in my backyard. First time since foot surgery, so now I know i can get out of the hammock....

I plan on getting the meat on a stick and plastic utensils on friday. Please let me know by thurs if there are other paper products that we need and I can pick them up.

Does any one have a bunch of those toe/shoe warmer packets? I think they can be bought in bulk from cosco but we no longer have an account.

I can't on the plates. Someone already helped themselves to the Scout Trailer. Hoping to help myself to the 3 burner stove Thursday and refill the 20 lb tank tonight. We will have a cooking appliance.

Cool, sounds like we need plates then. I remind everyone to update the spread sheet.

Man, y'all are excited? I never thought hosting an event could be so much fun! Especially since this is kicking off our new Virginia group.

By the way, speaking of the Virginia group, I have been speaking with Ranger Libscomb and from what he has told me and from my checking it looks like, if we are still wanting to do the hang at Powhatan SP in April, and I have heard nothing to the contrary, it will cost us $66 to reserve the campground. He was willing to waive that, since we are wanting to do a "service hang" but state rules do not allow him to do so. I know, "we have to PAY and we are going to WORK at the park??" Keep in mind that not all Virginia state parks have been that receptive to Hammocks and we are trying to build goodwill with them here.
If a couple of hangs go really well, maybe we can get some rules changed statewide. That is what I am shooting for anyway. I work for a state agency myself, in the Richmond headquarters but NOT DCR, and I have some concept of how these things work. I would love to see a statewide rule allowing hammocks in state parks, with tree friendly straps, AND a rule allowing "service camps" to stay for free.

I figure, if we all chip in, we should have more than enough easy and extra could go toward food for the hang or toward future hangs. Something like that.
I mean we have between 20 and 30 folks signed up to come to the MeetnGreet, I do not know how many will be also coming to the SpringHang. Now I cannot remember the name we settled on for that?? Anyway, if 20 folks chipped in $5 that would overshoot the mark by $34 and get us started on a summer hang! (the beach perhaps?)

...oh, BTW, I had some of those handwarmer packs. I am pretty sure that I still do. FYI. I will check.

I have no qualms paying either. That's still cheaper than most campgrounds and it does help lay some groundwork for future relations.

BTW, I have a propane burner I can bring for cooking if needed. I use it for brewing beer, so it can handle up to a 5 gallon pot without any issues.

$5? I'm in for $10 for a friend whom I am trying to recruit to the "Spring Swing". If he comes he is covered, if he doesn't... more for the future!

Does anyone have a ti purcell trench grill they can bring? I'd like to see one.

I can pick up plates too. Do we need trash bags?

Yeh, I realized yesterday I have no winter shoes. Just my motorcycle boots and I havent stuck my foot in them yet. I walked around with my feathered friends down booties and overcovers yesterday. Slickery.
