The one I made is based on the same concept. Never had trouble getting in and out, not even when I got sick from some bad food and had to run for the bushes, firing from both ends...Horrible weekend that was. The net I made from tule is all worn out and holed from getting caught on twigs so I'm about to order one from Dutch as well to get me by until the Chameleon hits the site.

Anyone else have a comparison between the Fronkey style and the Summer Sock? Both look to be good options, but I like the idea of being able to readily move the net totally out of the way if not needed. Decisions....decisions.....

IF you don't need the warmth protection of the bottom, then get the Fronkey. It is so much more convenient to get in and out of IMO.

The first time I saw one of those summer socks was at the last winter hang. Uphill(?) was next to me trying to slither out, but was confused or stuck, either way it was hilarious. Next morning he said he had no trouble, got the hang of it quick (ha, got the hang of it. I crack myself up)

So I got one and have been using it this buggy season so far. First time setting it up though, I didn't open the hammock up, apparently, at all, and I went right over the otherside like a scuba diver falling back out of a boat. Landing right on the ground on my back with my feet up in the air still caught up in the hammock and net. Climbing out was fun.

    . Welcome to the club!

I've been using one for two years now without a repeat performance. Like everything else with hammocking, takes a couple tries to get it right.

Nice thing is when bug season ends, it's easy to leave his nakedness' net at home.
